Automatic Gearbox Servicing – Colchester

The Gearbox Centre Essex in Colchester provides specialist automatic gearbox servicing for drivers from across Essex and Suffolk, that helps prevent costly failures and restores smooth, responsive performance.

Automatic transmissions depend heavily on clean fluid to maintain correct pressure, cooling, and lubrication, yet this fluid naturally degrades over time.  Heat, stop-start traffic, and heavy loads all accelerate fluid breakdown, which can cause jerky gear changes, hesitation when pulling away, and increased internal wear.  During servicing, we completely drain the old fluid, replenish the system with the correct manufacturer-approved transmission oil, and replace filters where the gearbox design allows.

Our technicians also assess for leaks, pressure anomalies, electronic control faults, and shift adaptation issues.  With modern diagnostic support and gearbox-specific knowledge, we ensure servicing is carried out to the right standard for long-term reliability throughout Essex and Suffolk.
